FSM Skyward Funnel Maintenance Project

Initial assessment identified priority areas on the top-of-funnel (top wing) requiring immediate surface treatment.

During a scheduled dry-dock period, Full Sail Marine (FSM) was engaged to perform inspection and maintenance work on the vessel’s funnel system. The project focused on addressing priority areas identified on the top-of-funnel (top wing), where surface degradation required immediate attention to maintain operational integrity.

FSM deployed its IRATA-certified rope access team to safely access elevated and restricted areas of the structure. Due to the limited timeframe before vessel sail-out, the scope was strategically aligned to focus on essential surface preparation and protective coating application.

The scope of work included the setup of secure rope access systems, protection of surrounding areas, manual cleaning using approved methods, and the application of primer and coating systems. Upon completion, all rigging and access systems were safely removed, ensuring a clean and controlled finish.

The project was successfully completed within the dry-dock window, enabling the vessel to depart on schedule without delays. The maintenance work ensured improved surface protection and extended service life of the funnel structure.
