In the spring of 2023, Full Sail Marine (FSM) completed a comprehensive repair and refurbishment project for a major cruise line. The project, requested by the Technical Operations Manager, aimed to improve issues with several key attractions, including the “Perfect Storm” Waterpark Slides, “Space Hole”, and the Splash Away Bay/Baby Bay.
To revitalize the attractions, FSM performed marine repairs, re-coated the entire slide structure for enhanced aesthetics, and also removed and reinstalled the pillar base covers. FSM also inspected every flume section and structural fastener, as well as checked and applied torque according to MFR specifications. Further ship maintenance also included slide repairs to eliminate cracks, chips, blisters, and deficiencies, including the slide launch and landings by using sanding and surface “peeling” equipment.
For improved serviceability, FSM replaced all silicone slide seams and installed hard seam fillers at the rider surface joints. To complete the slide project, new gelcoat was applied to the affected maintenance areas.
The results of our marine repair service included a revitalized waterpark with improved rider comfort safety and enhanced visual appeal, ensuring that future cruise line passengers would have a memorable, safe experience. Let’s Discuss Your Next Project
